Mary Chatburn is a gifted textile artist who has sold her work in New York, Paris, Tokyo and London.
As a child, like a magpie, she collected foil from sweet wrappers, brightly coloured tissue paper, scraps of pretty fabrics, buttons, broken jewellery... a recipe for her developing creativity.
She has a thirst for experimenting with different methods and materials, including manipulated textiles; resulting in a series of abstract still life artworks. Costume design and prop making have recently been added to her growing portfolio.
